About the Event
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT
Join us at the Hackney Museum for Wrap and Roll, an inspiring African headwrap workshop with Boni’s Blossoms, the mother-and-daughter brand founded by Ufuoma and Naomi. Known for their modern, ready-to-wear wraps rooted in tradition, Boni’s Blossoms celebrates African identity while making heritage styles accessible to everyone.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about the history and symbolism of African headwraps, see live demonstrations of Ashoke and Gele styles, and then take part in a guided session using fabric provided to practise creating your own wraps. With plenty of opportunity to ask questions, reflect, and try styles for yourself, this is a hands-on celebration of empowerment, heritage, and creativity through fashion.
FREE entry - Funded as part of Hackney Council's Black History Season. For more information visit lovehackney.uk/black-history
