Join Cultural Fashion & Arts CIC as a Trustee! Help shape diverse cultural experiences through fashion and art. We're seeking passionate individuals with expertise in funding, events, fashion, art, HR, finance, or law.

Working with UK-based community groups and organisations, Cultural Fashion & Arts CIC creates experiences and resources that help celebrate, educate, and bring communities together.

​

Our current offering includes cultural workshops, film, fashion shows, cultural art, and bespoke creative projects with our Cultural Leads from representative backgrounds. 

​

​We are the official community focussed event delivery partner for Cultural Style Week, an annual event that encourages people across the world to celebrate their cultural heritage through fashion, hair and beauty.

We are about to enter a period of significant growth and we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees.

Your Impact 

​

As a Trustee, you'll play a pivotal role in our strategic development and project calendar helping us to shape the delivery of enriching experiences and resources including helping to:

  • Guide the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring alignment with its mission to celebrate diversity and cultural heritage.

  • Enhance the reach and effectiveness of cultural programmes.

  • Advocate for inclusivity, making cultural experiences accessible to underserved groups.

  • Oversee financial stability and resource management.

  • Contribute creative and professional insights to amplify the quality and impact of cultural events.

  • Strengthen the organisation's leadership, accountability, and long-term success.

You will be passionate about diversity and inclusion and open to exploring new and creative ways to celebrate, educate, and bring communities together.

Time commitment

You will be required to attend at least four board meetings per year. These will mainly be held online with at least one meeting in-person per year at our London office.  â€‹You will also be expected to attend at least one planned event per year.  

 

Skills and experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:

​

  • Funding: Expertise in fundraising strategies, grant applications, and securing sponsorships to support organisational growth and sustainability.

  • Events: Experience in planning, organising, and managing events, with a focus on cultural and community engagement initiatives.

  • Fashion: Knowledge of the fashion industry, including cultural fashion trends, design, and event curation, to contribute to fashion-focused projects and events.

  • Art: Background in the arts, with experience in curation, creative direction, or arts education, to enhance the organisation’s artistic programmes.

  • HR: Strong understanding of human resources management, including recruitment, staff development, and promoting a positive, inclusive workplace culture.

  • Finance: Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and accounting to ensure effective oversight of the organisation’s finances and resource allocation.

  • Law: Legal expertise, particularly in areas such as charity law, contracts, or intellectual property, to provide guidance on legal compliance and risk management.

Remuneration 

We do not pay Trustees as these are volunteer positions. Trustees are eligible for reimbursement of agreed expenses incurred while carrying out their duties and can also charge for professional services across project budgets (where possible). 

 

Duration

We ask Trustees to commit to being with us for an 18 month period.
