Join Cultural Fashion & Arts CIC as a Trustee and help us create experiences and resources that celebrate diversity through fashion and art!

 

We are passionate about creating educational and celebratory cultural events, experiences, and activities that celebrate and unite diverse communities. We are about to enter a period of significant growth and we are seeking four enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Trustees. 

 

About Us 

Working with UK-based community groups and organisations, Cultural Fashion & Arts CIC creates experiences and resources that help celebrate, educate, and bring communities together.

 

​Our current offering includes cultural workshops, film, fashion shows, cultural art, and bespoke creative projects with our Cultural Leads from representative backgrounds. 

​

We are the official community focussed event delivery partner for Cultural Style Week, an annual event that encourages people across the world to celebrate their cultural heritage through fashion, hair and beauty.

Your Impact 

As a Trustee, you'll play a pivotal role in our strategic development and project calendar helping us to shape the delivery of enriching experiences and resources.

 

You will be passionate about diversity and inclusion and open to exploring new and creative ways to celebrate, educate, and bring communities together. 

 

Ideally, you will have a professional background in at least one of the following areas: culture, fashion, art, diversity and inclusion, marketing, advertising, finance or law.

The Main Tasks of a Trustee

​

  • Strategic Development: Help steer the direction of our initiatives, ensuring they align with our mission of celebrating diversity and cultural heritage.

  • Programme Collaboration: Collaborate with partners to amplify the impact of our work, enabling access to cultural experiences for marginalised communities.

  • Inclusivity Advocacy: Advocate for inclusivity in cultural events and experiences, helping us reach individuals historically underserved by the cultural sector.

  • Financial Oversight: Participate in overseeing the finances of the organisation to ensure the effective management of our resources.

  • Communications and Campaigning: Where possible, utilising your communications skills to raise awareness of our mission and drive engagement.

  • Creative Practice: Bring your creative insight to enhance the artistic and cultural aspects of our events.

  • Accountability: Being an essential part of our leadership and accountability network for project deliverables and strategy implementation.

Time commitment

You will be required to attend at least four board meetings per year. These will mainly be held online with at least one meeting in-person per year at our London office.  

​

You will also be expected to attend at least one planned event per year.  

 

Remuneration 

We do not pay Trustees as these are volunteer positions. Trustees are eligible for reimbursement of agreed expenses incurred while carrying out their duties and can also charge for professional services across project budgets (where possible). 

 

Duration

We ask Trustees to commit to being with us for an 18 month period.
